Damp and Timber Survey

A dry rot survey will identify the extent of the wood rot, damp, fungi, masonry defects, structural faults, and sources of the moisture in your property. Some problems cannot be correctly identified by homeowners. We are experts in all types of timber decay and masonry fungal growth.

We can solve all the problems below. Call us today for advice and a consultation.

14. dry rot growth

Dry rot

Dry rot is caused when moisture is in contact with timber in unventilated areas. Fungi can be found behind plaster, and units. It can be caused by faulty plumbing or broken pipes. We can remove contaminated plaster, spray with fungicide and irrigate walls.

12. dry rot

Fruiting Bodies

Extensive advanced growth of wet and dry rot creates fruiting bodies, which looks like a mushroom. It is an advanced growth of fungus. This generates spores that become airborne and then escalate the problem. Wet and dry rot can affect your health, particularly allergy and asthma sufferers.

17. wet rot flat roof

Wet Rot

Although not as devastating as dry rot, wet rot also needs to be treated to prevent further problems. This is found where there are damp conditions, such as kitchens and bathrooms.

Masonry irrigation

This involves removing all contaminated plaster and timber that has been exposed to dry rot/dry rot fungus. A specialist masonry biocide is drilled and introduced into the masonry.

Woodworm

Beetles’ infestations lay eggs and these spread and eat the timber in your home.

They are able to undermine the integrity of the timber so badly you could easily fall through a wooden floor!

Woodworm can spread rapidly from floor to floor and into furniture. Beetles like wood and paper. You may see evidence of them with fly holes or dust like fraz on the surface of your timber.

My woodworm problem was overwhelming and was spreading fast. I had tried to treat it myself without success so I called in the experts. I would highly recommend you do the same as it is much easier in the long run.
